Ronald W. Dewberry Obituary




Ronald W. Dewberry passed away peacefully on January 13, 2024, in Opelika, Alabama. He was born on October 29, 1951, in LaFayette, Alabama.


Ronald was a proud veteran, having served his nation with honor in the United States Army. His sense of duty was matched only by his devotion to his family. He shared a beautiful marriage of 45 years with his beloved wife, Linda Gail.

He is survived by his cherished wife, Linda Gail; his son, Kris Dewberry; his grandchildren, Kristopher Dewberry, Jr., Kaylen Dewberry, and Kathryn Dewberry; and his loving sisters, Alice Faye Bowen and Carol Craven.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Audrey and Virginia Dewberry, and his twin brother, Donald Ray Dewberry.


Ronald loved driving a truck, embracing the freedom of the wide-open highway, and the beauty of the many states and scenic trips he experienced. His passion for the road was paralleled by his love for Auburn University football, a devotion that brought him both excitement and camaraderie. Ronald was also an avid horseshoe player, enjoying the simple pleasures of friendly competition and the company of his friends and family.

Those who knew Ronald will remember him as a man who never missed an opportunity to make others laugh. His generosity knew no bounds, and his presence was a source of comfort and happiness.


Ronald's humor, warmth, and selflessness will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him. As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, we take comfort in knowing that his legacy will continue to inspire and uplift us.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2023 at 2:00P.M. EST with interment following in Garden Hill Cemetery in Opelika, Alabama. His family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Tuesday night from 6:00 P.M. EST until 8:00 P.M. EST.

Mrs. Radean Walls Poole, 59 of Daviston, AL passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at her residence. Public Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, from 2:00PM CST until 6:00 PM CST at Silmon-Seroyer Funeral Home Chapel, Lafayette, AL. Mrs. Poole will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2024, 1:00 PM CST at Leander Baptist Church, Daviston, AL.
