Terri Harper Jones Obituary



Terri Harper Jones, affectionately known as Terri to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2024, in Auburn, Alabama, at the age of 70. Born on May 15, 1953, in Atlanta, Georgia, Terri's life was marked by her unwavering kindness, selflessness, and an immense love for her family and community.

Terri's early years laid the foundation for a life characterized by compassion and service to others. She carried these values throughout her life, touching the hearts of everyone she met. Terri's legacy is carried on by her loving family, including her daughter, Angel Clifton (William), and son, Jeremy Barker (Amber). She was the cherished grandmother to Kelsie Workman (Holton), Michael Walden (Keeley), Zachary Barker (Victoria), Dylan Barker, and Payton Barker, Aleah Browder. and the adored great-grandmother to five great-grandchildren. Terri also leaves behind her devoted brother, Marvin Bishop (Martie), and her twin sister, Jerri Harper, who together shared a lifetime of memories. Her nieces and nephews, Rachel Fausz (Marcus), Billie Smith (Charlie), Cindy Batchelor (Rickey), William Fausz (Allison), Veronica, Kim, Stacey, Nikki, and MaryAnn, along with ten great-nieces and nephews, will fondly remember her nurturing presence.

Terri was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wendell Jones, her parents, W. J. "Jerry" Harper and Pauline Smith, and her brother and sister-in-law, Don and Ann Mason. Their memories remain a beacon of love and strength in the hearts of those who knew them.

For over thirty years, Terri was an active and dedicated member of Calvary Community Church, where she found great joy and fulfillment in her faith and church family. Her commitment to her faith was evident in her daily life and in the wise and comforting words she often shared with her loved ones: "Just hold on to your faith. God will get you through this."

Professionally, Terri served as a respiratory therapist for over two decades. Her caring nature and expert care left a lasting impact on the many patients she treated. Terri's colleagues and those under her care will remember her as a beacon of light within the medical community, always ready to lend a helping hand with a warm smile.

Terri's life was a testament to the power of love and the importance of family. She was a great person and an exceptional mother and grandmother. Her passion for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren knew no bounds, and she embraced every moment with them with open arms and an open heart. Terri never met a stranger, and her ability to connect with others was one of her most remarkable qualities.

Those who knew Terri will remember her as a loving, kind, and selfless individual. Her legacy of love and her spirit of generosity will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to have known her. 

Funeral services for Terri will be held on Monday, January 15th, 2024, at 2:30 PM (EST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley. Interment will follow in Johnson Memorial Gardens. Pastor LaVerne Cotney will officiate. Terri’s family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 PM (EST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.

Mrs. Radean Walls Poole, 59 of Daviston, AL passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at her residence. Public Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, from 2:00PM CST until 6:00 PM CST at Silmon-Seroyer Funeral Home Chapel, Lafayette, AL.
