William Jack Langley, Sr. Obituary



William Jack Langley, Sr., known affectionately as Jack to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on the last day of 2023, December 31st, in Valley, Alabama. Jack was born on July 9, 1937.


Jack is survived by his loving wife, Darlene Langley, son, Jackie Langley (married to Evonda), and his stepdaughters, Lisa Tenney, Teresa Pike, and Maria Fallin, grandchildren, Robbie Christine Langley, Kalli Jean Langley, Joshua Blake Garsee, Zachary Ryan Garsee, Makenna Garsee, Emberlyn Garsee, Jaxon Anthony Carter, and Josephine Rose Carter.

Jack proudly served his country in the United States Army, and he fought in the Vietnam war. Jack became the owner and operator of Langley Gun Shop, a local establishment he ran successfully for over 30 years. 

Jack's interests were as rich and varied as his life experiences. An avid fisherman, he found solace and pleasure in the quiet moments by the water. His love for farming was evident in the care he took in raising goats and sheep, a testament to his connection with the land and nature. A skilled deer hunter, Jack respected the outdoors and the lessons it taught him. His passion for sports was undeniable, especially when it came to cheering on his beloved University of Alabama football team, a pastime that brought him both excitement and camaraderie.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 5th, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. EST at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home chapel in Valley with interment following in Marseilles Cemetery in West Point, Georgia. His family will be receiving friends from 10:30 A.M. EST until the service time.
