Obituary For Clifton Emory Reese Jr.

Clifton Emory Reese, Jr of Shawmut, AL, affectionately known by all who knew and loved him as "Pedro", went home to heaven on Sunday, May 26th at 11:37am. He passed peacefully in his home surrounded by his family. He was 84 years old.

Pedro was born to Clifton and Lucille Reese in Lagrange, GA on April 20th 1940. He attended Valley High School before becoming a certified Heating & Air specialist through Southern Union State Community College. Pedro was a veteran of the US National Guard and the US Navy. He married Josephine Edwards on August 4th, 1973 and had just celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary to her.
Pedro spent the majority of his working career as an electrician for the West Point Pepperell/West Point Home corporation, before retiring to take on his two favorite jobs in life: prison ministry, and being "Paw-paw".

Pedro had many interests to fill the hours and days. He was an avid golfer. He loved wood-working and landscaping. He loved to find antique furniture and bring it back to life. Of all of his projects, Pedro was most passionate about his prison ministry. He loved Jesus and had a heart for sharing the Gospel to anyone who would listen and many who wouldn't. He would go to the county jail nearly every week so that he could have the opportunity to sit down in a jail cell and share Jesus with someone who needed it.

Pedro is preceded in death by his father, Cliff Reese, his mother, Lucille Hahn, his brothers George and Larry, and his sisters Rochelle Mansour and Barbara Pilkington. He is survived by his wife, Josephine, his son, Chris, his daughters Mandy (Bobby) Poer and Jodie (Justin) Lynch, his grandchildren, Logan, Reese, and Lacy along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, May 28th from 4:00-6:00 pm at Valley-Point Funeral Home in Lanett, AL. A celebration of Pedro's life will take place on Wednesday, May 29th at Plant City Baptist Church at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Pedro can be made to Plant City Baptist Church or The Christian Service Center.

Professional services are provided by Valley-Point Funeral Home & Cremation.
