Carol Comer Harris Obituary

Carol "Comer" Harris, born on March 23, 1936, in Rockford, Alabama, and a long-time resident of Lee County, Alabama, went home to be with the Lord peacefully on June 4, 2024, at his home surrounded by loved ones. Comer, as he was affectionately known, was a man whose life was marked by honor, joy, and an uplifting spirit that touched everyone he knew.

A devoted husband and father, Comer is survived by his loving wife, Patricia F. Harris “Pat”, his daughters Ginny (Donnie) Hugaboom, Carrie (Butch) Baker, Angelique (Steve) Dodgen, Roberta (Forrest) Jones, and Sharon Hall, his son-in-law Michael Miller, and his sons Michael (Tammy) Hall and Timothy (Samantha) Hall, a host of nieces and nephews, twenty-five grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and his beloved cat Thomas. Comer has now rejoined loved ones who preceded him in death, including his father Carter Lee Harris, mother Elanore Bonner, sister Lucille Logan, and daughter Carol Miller.

After 20 years of service as a Hull Technician in the US Navy, he retired and eventually became an active member of Comer Methodist Church in Alexander City AL. It was there where he met his beautiful wife Pat. He and Pat later moved to Cusseta AL and moved his membership to Hopewell Methodist Church in Valley, AL, where he was currently an active member. Comer's life was characterized by his unique storytelling of his life experiences, the friendly pranks that left everyone in laughter, being an avid Alabama Football fan, and for his generosity. If you have ever encountered Comer, chances are you got a peppermint.

Described as thoughtful, funny, and kind, Comer was an individual whose legacy of love and laughter will be cherished and remembered. He leaves behind a tapestry of memories that continue to resonate with warmth and affection through the many lives he touched.
