Carolyn Green Obituary

We gather today to celebrate the life of Carolyn Green, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who passed away peacefully on June 15, 2024, in Auburn, Alabama. Born on August 22, 1941, in Langdale, Alabama, Carolyn's life was a tapestry of love, dedication, and gentle kindness that touched everyone she knew.

Carolyn's journey began as the daughter of Ross Talbot and Cordell Heath (Lewis), and she grew up surrounded by the love of her family in the close-knit community of Langdale. Her life was one of devotion, not only to her family but also to her faith as a long-standing member of Grace Baptist Church. Her commitment to her church and community was unwavering, and she will be remembered for her generous spirit and compassionate heart.

She found her life's partner in Tommy Green, and together they built a life filled with joy and laughter. Carolyn's legacy is carried on through her loving sons, Steve Green and his wife Paula of Five Points, AL, Roger Green and his wife Tammy of Huguley, AL, David Green and his wife Karrie of Bremen, GA, and Jason Green of Valley, AL. Her sisters, Janice Moore and Jenny Holderfield and her husband John, both of Five Points, AL, also survive her. Carolyn was a beacon of love and stability for her grandchildren, Taylor, Connor, Carter, Kensleigh, Lexi, and Jacob, whose lives she enriched with her presence and unwavering support.

Carolyn's love for her family was paralleled by her passion for reading, a hobby that allowed her to explore countless worlds and adventures. She was a fixture at her grandchildren's events, always there to cheer them on and celebrate their achievements. Her love extended to her feline companions, and she was known for her adoration of her cats, who brought her much joy and companionship.

A proud and enthusiastic fan of the University of Alabama, Carolyn's spirit and enthusiasm were infectious, especially during football season. Her gentle, loving, and kind nature made her a beloved figure, and her presence at games will be deeply missed by all who shared in her passion.

As we say goodbye to Carolyn Green, we reflect on a life well-lived, a life filled with love, kindness, and gentle grace. She was the embodiment of the best of us, and her memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, Ross Talbot, and mother, Cordell Heath (Lewis), but her spirit and legacy will live on through her family and the countless lives she touched.
