Mr. Leroy Evans Obituary




Mr. Leroy Evans, 79 of Stockbridge, GA, formerly of Camp Hill, AL passed away on Monday, July 22, 2024.

Public Visitation will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. CST at Silmon-Seroyer Funeral Home Chapel in LaFayette.

Mr. Evans will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024, 1:00 p.m. CST at Mt. Lovely Baptist Church in Camp Hill, AL, Pastor Bernard Harris, Officiating, Reverend Samuel Evans, Eulogist.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Evans is survived by his wife of 40 years Ruth Sims-Evans; his children: Bentzell Evans of Birmingham, AL, Cynthia Flowers of Boston, MA, Theresa Owens (Kevin) of Columbus, OH, Cassandra &  Steven Sims of Knoxville, TN; brother, Nathaniel Evans of Stamford, CT; sisters, Joan Farrow (Samuel) of Stockbridge, GA and Jessie Evans of Camp hill, AL, favorite cousins, Danny Evans of Camp Hill, AL, Peggy and Toney Tinsley of Boston, MA; favorite brother-in-law, Samuel, Farrow of Boston, MA; grandchildren: Kevin, Troy, Malik, James, Javon, Kendrell, Kyrell, Luv, Tyrence; three great grandchildren, Kaliyah, Kamiah, and Adonis; nephews, George Jr., Michael, Mark, Terry, Alfrado, Corey, Wayne, and Brian; nieces: Kathy, Monica, Jessica, Lisha, and Robin, a host of cousins and friends.

Mrs. Radean Walls Poole, 59 of Daviston, AL passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at her residence. Public Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, from 2:00PM CST until 6:00 PM CST at Silmon-Seroyer Funeral Home Chapel, Lafayette, AL. Mrs. Poole will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2024, 1:00 PM CST at Leander Baptist Church, Daviston, AL. Born on July 27, 1939, in Langdale, Alabama, Kathy was full of love and joy throughout her life, touching the hearts of all who knew her. She departed from this world in Opelika, Alabama. Kathy's life was one of devotion and laughter, marked by her enduring love for her husband of 48 years, James Widner. Together, they built a life filled with cherished memories and shared dreams. Kathy's spirit lives on through her daughter, Christy Widner, and her beloved grandchildren, Jamie Widner, Justin Mims, and Brandon Chatman (Haley).
