Obituary For Jeffrey Martin “Marty” Hall



Jeffrey Martin “Marty” Hall, born on October 3, 1967 passed away peacefully at his home on May 11, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gladys and Herman King and Flora and Ralph Hall.
He is survived by his mother Diane Shelnutt, his father Billy Gene Hall, fiancé Patty Putman, his brother Eric Hall (Deanne), his daughter Abby Smith, four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Survivors also include three step-sons.
Marty traveled throughout the southeast for the past twenty-five years as a living historian reenacting the Civil War and War of 1812. He was a dedicated volunteer at Horse Shoe Bend National Military Park and at the Columbus Naval Museum. He was passionate about sharing his knowledge of the Civil War and the War of 1812 with children.
He was a long-time self-employed carpenter and enjoyed working with his hands. During his time away from work he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Marty and his family enjoyed their yearly Christmas reunion in Panama City Beach, Florida. He was often asked to sing as he had a beautiful singing voice that was enjoyed by many. Marty attended Living Word Assembly of God Church in Lanett with his family.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 16th at 2:00 PM EST at Valley-Point Funeral Home.

Valley Point Funeral Home in Lanett, Alabama, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
